What we help with

Where does your risk actually sit?

Cardiovascular risk is rarely one diagnosis. It is usually several things interacting—some you know about, some you don’t yet.

Two questions shape almost every conversation here: what is quietly raising your risk right now, and what would change it most?

Does this sound like you?

Most people arrive for one of these reasons.

  • You’ve been told your cholesterol is “a little high” and to keep an eye on it—for years
  • A parent or sibling had a heart attack or stroke young, and nobody has told you what that means for you
  • A scan done for something else picked up coronary calcium
  • Your blood pressure is borderline and you’re not sure whether to treat it
  • Your weight or blood sugar has been drifting the wrong way
  • You had preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, or early menopause—and no one connected it to your heart
  • You’ve had symptoms investigated and been told everything is normal
  • You’ve already had an event, and want the focus on preventing the next one
  • You’re tired more than you should be, and sleeping badly
  • Nothing is wrong—you simply want to know where you stand while there’s still time

What we work on

The things that move the number.

Cholesterol & lipids

LDL, apolipoprotein B, triglycerides. Lipoprotein(a)—inherited, present in roughly one in five people, and still rarely measured. Treated with diet first and medication where the evidence warrants it.

Blood pressure

Measured properly, at home, over time—not from one reading. Sodium, alcohol, sleep, weight, and stress all move it, and often more than people expect.

Metabolic health

Insulin resistance, prediabetes, visceral fat, and glucose creeping upward inside the “normal” range. Caught early, among the most reversible risk in all of cardiovascular medicine.

Family history

Early heart disease in a parent or sibling is one of the strongest predictors we have, and one of the most consistently under-weighted in routine care.

Women’s cardiovascular risk

Preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, early menopause, and autoimmune conditions all carry long-term cardiac consequences that standard risk calculators handle poorly.

Sleep & recovery

Short, fragmented sleep raises blood pressure and worsens glucose control. Obstructive sleep apnoea is a major cardiovascular risk factor and is badly underdiagnosed.

Weight & body composition

Where fat sits matters more than what the scale says. The goal is a sustainable direction of travel, not a number by a date.

Inflammation

Inflammatory markers, autoimmune conditions, and their interaction with lipids and blood pressure—interpreted together rather than in isolation.

After a cardiac event

Secondary prevention, alongside your cardiologist: making sure the plan after a heart attack, stent, or diagnosis is as considered as the treatment was.

What this isn’t

This is not an emergency service, and not a replacement for your primary care physician or existing cardiologist.

It is also not a place that will hand you a supplement protocol or a package of scans. If your risk is already well managed, you will be told that rather than sold something.

If you’re not sure

Plenty of people arrive without a diagnosis—just a sense that their risk has never been properly looked at.

That is a perfectly good reason to book the introductory call. It’s complimentary, and if this isn’t the right fit you’ll be told so, along with a suggestion of what would be.

In patients’ words

What people say about working with Dr. Joseph.

“Dr. Joseph was one of the first doctors to tell me she believed me and make me feel like I wasn’t crazy. She was very patient with my anxiety about not being taken seriously, as I had been treated by so many providers over time.

You can absolutely feel that she sees you as a person and not a number—you can’t fake that. She’s also incredibly well accomplished and is able to explain complex things in a way that is easy to understand.”

M.Verified patient review · Healthgrades

“Dr. Joseph is the total doctor. Incredibly caring, yet so detailed in her approach to my cardiac care. I feel totally secure in having her as my cardiologist.

Her obvious intelligence does not obstruct her humble way of communicating what my medical needs are. She is totally thorough, and I never leave her office with unanswered questions. Dr. Joseph is an example for other doctors to follow.”

“Dr. Joseph is no longer at [previous hospital] and we are heart broken. She is amazing. Hopefully we will be able to reconnect with her.”
